Is it Real or Fake?

Fake news and misinformation seems to be everywhere these days. Our email Inboxes get spammed with it daily. It's all over Facebook, YouTube and other social media. How can you tell what is real and what isn't?

Jayson Bussa, Editor of The Hastings Banner and The Reminder, will help us explore this timely topic.

Join us to:

  • Learn more about identifying potential fake news.
  • Talk about misinformation and distinguish it from disinformation.
  • Learn about how to perform a reverse image search to see where images might have come from and if they are real.
  • See some websites that can help you research the truth of news stories.

When: Wednesday July 10, 2024
Time: 2pm
Where: Community Room

No computer is required but bring your own phone, tablet, or laptop to explore the resources we will discuss. 6 library laptops are also available.
Light snacks and water will be provided.

Registration is Requested, Walk-ins are Welcome
