The Friends of the Hastings Public Library support the library with volunteer assistance, fundraisers, and extend the library’s reach into our community.

Overview

A 501 [C][3] certified organization, the Friends raise money for the library through book sales, selling other items in the library like coffee and earbuds, and fundraising events around town thoughout the year.

Some of the money raised is donated to the library to support library collection development, dues to organizations, purchase of equipment and staff training.

The Friends also volunteer within the library helping re-shelve books, aiding with programs and supporting children's literacy efforts.

Examples of projects supported or completed in the past include:

  • Summer Reading programs
  • Used Book Sales
  • Winter Reading Club
  • Children’s and Teen Programming
  • New Mom’s Bags @ Pennock Hospital
