The Hastings Public Library fully supports the American Library Association's perspective that

The 2022 Election online resources listed below are provided to assist everyone in researching issues, investigating the candidates and deciding whether to vote via absentee or in person.

The list of resources is a sampling of available websites. The Library does not endorse any specific candidate and is not responsible for content presented on third-party websites.

General Voting and Election Resources

Vote411: Presented by the League of Women Voters.

Official League of Women Voters Michigan Voting Guide (link not yet available): pdf download A consortium of nonpartisan, nonprofit organizations seeking to provide information and resources in order to increase voter participation in elections. It includes state-by-state voting information. A collection of quotes, voting records and other information on candidates for office on a wide variety of topics potentially helpful for comparing viewpoints. Compilation of articles, news items and editorials covering multiple issues from multiple viewpoints. (link not yet available): Indicates the viewpoints of the candidates in the Nov. 8, 2022 election on a variety of topics.

Resources For Children and Youth About Government & Voting Sponsored by the Government Printing Office, this resource is dedicated to educating children of different age levels about the workings of federal government. Offers nonpartisan information for kids and resources for educators. A nonprofit founded by members of the recording industry, Rock the Vote is geared towards younger voters and includes information on issues and voting.

Who is Running?General Candidate Information includes search tools that allow you to research candidates and elected officials, voting records, and issues. They also offer a mobile app. Allows users to track federal legislation or see the voting and bill sponsorship records of Representatives and Senators. The Federal Elections Commission includes campaign filing information for candidates as well as a searchable database for voters.


The list of candidates represents the two major political parties and has been compiled to the best of our ability. If a candidates name or official site is not listed or is inaccurate, please contact us to request a correction be made.

Founded by the Tampa Bay Times and now operated by the Poynter Institute, PolitiFact is a nonpartisan fact checking organization that focuses on national political figures. Self-proclaimed "oldest and largest fact-checking site on the Internet".

PunditFact: Self-described as "dedicated to checking the accuracy of claims by pundits, columnists, bloggers, political analysts, the hosts and guests of talk shows, and other members of the media."
