Are you interested in plants or walking the outdoors? Do you have memories of relatives discussing home grown or gathered foods & medicinal plants?

Join the Hastings Public Library staff and Christin Othmer at the parking lot of the Charlton Park between the village & sawmill and wander the meadows, lake and wetland areas to find and learn more about useful plants. Bring your water bottle and wear appropriate gear and insect relief.  This is not a foraging walk. . . but we will discuss medicinal and food plants.

Christin Othmer is a pharmacist with a herbalist certification, who believes food is medicine. She and her husband live on a local farm, where they raise their own meat and much of their own fruits and vegetables. They, in collaboration with their four adult children, use regenerative agricultural practices to grow corn and soybeans. In her free time Christin enjoys gathering wild plants for food and medicine, gardening and CrossFit.
