Game Overview

What type of game is this?

It’s a game based in history while remaining a self-contained game. You will be playing in an environment that has been set out to capture the flavor of the period. It’s a game of negotiation, politics, and military operations. It’s very unlikely that history will be repeated – because you, and the other players, will make your own decisions. The setting is the Mexican Revolution of 1913 - a time of chaotic revolution, where the actions of one or two people changed the course of that country’s history.

So, who am I in this game?

You and the other players are revolutionary generals/politicians. Your aim is to lead your country to a new regime that follows the political agenda that you feel will serve it best. Or you're best. And, if you end up as president, well it’s a tough job but you’re absolutely the right person for it!

The struggle is very much about individual personalities and thus your troops are personally loyal to you, their general, more than to the cause and certainly more than to some remote figurehead leader in the capital. However, the personal reach of a player only goes so far and thus you will have to combine with other players to unite your talents, skills, and forces.

Each player has a briefing about the historical character whose role they are taking. This is there to help you get into the role and into the mindset of that character at the time. Don’t feel unduly constrained – you can change the way the character approaches things, but please be aware of how that character is currently fitting into the fabric of society.
