Hastings Public Library is joining Earth Day Alliance Barry County to celebrate Earth Day, April 22, 2023, by participating in the 14th Annual Neighborhood Forest free tree program, whose aim is to provide free trees to kids every spring.

Since 2010, Neighborhood Forest has engaged over 1,000 institutions, reached over 250,000 families, and planted over 90,000 (mostly urban and residential) trees through the hands of children and parents across North America.
Check out this cute video.

Registration closed as of march 17.

If you registered ahead of time, pick up your free tree (6-12 inches in size) during Earth Week (April 22-30). The exact species will be revealed in early April.

Trees will be available during the Business & Community Expo at Hastings High School on April 22 from 10am - 1pm.

If you are unable to join the Earth Day fun at the Expo, please arrange to have your trees picked up Monday April 24 at the Hastings Public Library between 9am and 8pm.
