Cybersecurity Basics - Digital Literacy for Everyone

Increase your confidence and ability to engage online while staying safe from scams and frauds in this “hands on” class in our Digital Literacy for Everyone Series of classes.

There are limited seats available in our FREE Cybersecurity Basics Training Workshop on Wednesday October 5 at 2:00 pm in the Hastings Public Library’s Community Room, no laptop required. That’s right, you can use Library Laptops for this class or bring your own.

Join our Cybersecurity trainer while they help you identify fraud attempts and teach how to protect yourself with other newly connected computer and internet users, or anyone that wants to upgrade their safety during online adventures.

In this 60 to 90-minute workshop, attendees will learn basic safety for visiting websites, creating passwords, and receiving email and other attempts at communication from potential fraudsters.  

Participants will be entered to win an Android tablet!

 

Additional workshops will be on the first Wednesday of each month through March 2023. Future classes will cover email, video conferencing, mobile devices and computer basics.

These workshops are part of our Digital Literacy for Everyone series made possible by the PLA Digital Literacy Workshop Incentive, supported by AT&T.
