Summer Reading

2020's Summer Reading Challenge Has Ended!

Thank you to all who participated this year in our first ever online reading program. We have more online challenges planned for kids, teens and adults,  watch our website and Facebook for information as it becomes available.

Don't forget if you have an account with Beanstack you can continue to use it to track reading.

Thanks again,

The Hastings Public Library Staff

Welcome to the Summer Reading Challenge 2020!

Summer Reading 2020

Imagine Your Story with our new online portal for Summer Reading hosted by Beanstack.

Here everyone can track reading, activities completed and enter prize drawings. Parents, you can manage all readers' logs in one place and log family reading time in one entry.
Teens and other adults can create and manage accounts too!

The process is simple:

  1. Register you and/or your children on Beanstack (see video help below).

  2. Log Reading & Activities online or with the companion app (see video help below).

  3. Earn badges and rewards, plus enter for prize drawings.

There is also an app for iPhone Beanstack and Android Beanstack so you can track progress wherever you are.

Book Bundles

Interested in the library staff picking some books for your child to read? Fill out the form below and we will pull three books in your chosen categories that you can pick up. Books will be pulled from our picture book, early reader and junior non-fiction sections.

Don't want to manage Summer Reading online?

Pick up paper game boards and activity trackers from the library at the drive-thru or download them and print out copies at home.

Until the Library opens, game boards can be picked up in the North lobby off the parking lot.

Note: we will need the paper boards turned in when complete to enter the data online for statistics tracking purposes and to issue prizes.
