For thousands of years, humans have collected foods from their environment. Only in the last century have the vast majority of people moved away from collecting and growing their own food to purchasing their food at grocery stores. Recover some of the past intimacy with your foods by learning about wild edible plants. This program and short walk will introduce participants to some of the common plants found in yards, fields and forests that can be used for food. The program will cover proper identification, preparation, and safety. Please come prepared to be outside for an easy walk along the Hastings Riverwalk.
